Bellosguardo, c. 1940
The lush Clark summer estate overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Santa Barbara, California, was called Bellosguardo, meaning "beautiful lookout." On more than twenty-three acres, it affords total privacy. The Clarks last visited in the early 1950s. These photos were taken in about 1940.
